Fun in the Dark - Night Activities
There are so many fun activities to do with your students at night whilst in Canberra - it's a good opportunity for students to add a little activity to their stay.
Below you will find those that are most popular:
Curriculum Activities
Australian Institute of Sport
Walk in the footsteps of your sporting heroes. Night-time tours provide an insight into the behind the scenes world of sport. Bookings are essential.

Black Mountain Tower
See the city lights and watch it unfold from the enclosed viewing gallery or the two open platforms - it's certainly a "bird's eye" view from here!
Cockington Green
This is a miniature wonderland! View this illuminated village that has been built by hand and has taken many thousands of hours to produce such masterpieces. Night-time visits may also include a steam train ride around the village.

CSIRO Discovery
View modern science laboratories and try to spot a real scientist! Students have the opportunity to engage in exciting interactive exhibits, get stuck into hands-on science experiments and view the 3D show - beat the day crowds!
National Dinosaur Museum
The ever popular 'Dinosaurs at Night' tours are by far the most entertaining and atmospheric way to view the dinosaurs. Imagine a sabre-tooth tiger or tyrannosaurus looking out of the dark at you - not recommended for the faint hearted!

Questacon
Experience an earthquake, brave the simulated guillotine, free fall from 6 metres down a vertical slide or just try hands science all for yourselves. Night bookings are run only for school groups to avoid the public crowds!
Non-curriculum Activities
AMF Bowling
Ten-Pin Bowling at its best - the perfect way to end the day! Keep the students active and entertained with a game of AMF Bowling after a long day visiting the sights of Canberra.

Ice Skating
Put on some skates and test your skills - are the students the next contestants on "Dancing On Ice"? A great laugh and enjoyable time for all at Phillip Ice Skating Centre
Indoor Rock Climbing
Test their endurance and determination! Indoor rock climbing is a great way to harness team work and encouragement amongst the students - how high can they climb?

Movies
Escape the excursion! Take some leisurely time out and enjoy the latest release movies. Special offers for educational groups available.
Putt Putt Golf / Pitch and Putt
Pick up a gold club and let the students practice their swings...under floodlight! Or let them take in a competitive game of Putt Putt Golf.
